Comparing Video from Kodak Zi8 and Nikon D5000
I’ve taken videos from both my Kodak Zi8 and my Nikon D5000, but I wanted to see how they compared side by side… literally. For this example, I held (sorry about the shaking) both cameras next to each other and recorded Steve Mortiboy driving a Dodge Charger around a circle a few times.
House to Approve Bill without Voting
Hey Guys, I am sending this letter to a few friends. This is as critical as it is unbelievable.: Several days ago, house rules chairwoman Louise Slaughter began preparing a rule that would consider the Senate health care bill as passed in the House of Representatives without the House actually having to vote for it. [...]
WordCamp Miami
Had a great time meeting everyone at WordCamp Miami yesterday. Mark Jaquith’s Tips and Tricks presentation was pretty interesting. Watch the video after it’s posted if you haven’t seen it yet. Enjoyed hanging out with Scott Basgaard again. Met a number of great new people. Got several great photography tips from Travis Ballard and Carlos Miller. [...]
Neither Snow nor Sleet
The January Meetup was cancelled due to snow, and even though it snowed again last night we weren’t going to let that keep us from this month’s meetup. Craig Tuller of StudioPress gave and excellent presentation on theme news, customization, tweak hints, and development.
Media Temple Hacked
I don’t normally do negative posts about another person or company, but I feel this needs to get out there. A few hours ago I received an email from MediaTemple, where I host several of my clients. It was an automated message informing me that:

A Big Thank You
Lately, there has been talk about WordPress Plugin and Theme developers not receiving enough credit and appreciation for their work, if any at all. While this may be true, I want to make sure we acknowledge those who do express their appreciation and gratitude through Paypal donations, sending a gift on my Amazon wishlist, or [...]
WordPress Plugin and Theme GPL Misconceptions, Misinformation, and Perspective
I don’t have some crazy linkbait title bashing some plugin, developer, or Automattic employee/executive, but you’re here so I guess you still found the post somehow. Lately, there has been a lot of talk about a variety of issues related to the commercialization and GPLness of plugins, themes, and Automattic. Some of these discussions have [...]
Foreman Field – Old Dominion University
Check out the new Foreman Field football stadium facility at Old Dominion University. The ODU stadium is still a construction zone. The game day building in the Southern Endzone is new. In the next several years both stands will be replaced as they are the original stands from the early 1900s. ODU last played there [...]

My First Apple Macbook
Ever since I made “the switch” last year, I’ve become more and more enamored with Apple products. As a former lifelong Apple-hater, I now see the error in my ways, and am really enjoying my new toys. Since my Acer laptop apparently decided on it’s own that I don’t actually need use of it’s screen, [...]
Sans Illegible
I’ve never been much into typography but as a habitual photoshop user, I’m burdened with some number of thousands of fonts on my computer. I recently came to the profound realization that it is silly for there not to be a font of my own handwriting.
Global Warming in Full Force
Now, I’m pretty sure that Mr Gore told me that we are in dire straits and that we are killing the planet. Yet somehow, here in Dixie, we have our second southern snow of the season. In March.
You know you’re a WordPress addict if…
After a great conversation in the WP Tavern, I just couldn’t stop myself from coming up with ways to know if you’re a WordPress addict…
first snow of the year
The Eskimos had 52 words for snow. Whatever you want to call it, the sight sure is beautiful…
